Dave Mackey was the Ultrarunner of the Year in 2011 and completed the brutal Leadman Series of events in 2014. In May of 2015 a boulder fell on his lower leg while he was out trail running and, after enduring 13 surgeries over 17 months he finally had his leg amputated below the knee. He ran for the first time in a prosthetic leg in April of 2017 and this summer he is once again attempting Leadman. The man is a legend!
