Lionel Sanders was a high school runner in Canada who made a wrong turn in life. He ended up as a drug addict and at one point contemplated suicide. While at one of the lowest points of his life, he made a decision that would change everything: he would train for and complete an Ironman Triathlon. That was in 2010. Today he is drug free, a professional triathlete, and in 2014 he took 4th place at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship and in November he won Ironman Florida. Lionel Sanders’ story validates once again the power of sport.
