Alana Nichols was paralyzed when she was 17 years old back in 2000. Two years later she discovered wheelchair basketball and by 2008 she won a Paralympic Gold Medal. Two years later she won two more Gold Medals, this time in the winter Paralympics on the mono ski. She is now getting ready for Rio to try and medal in kayaking, her third Paralympic sport. ‘Tin Soldiers,’ the documentary she is featured in, will premiere on July 28th at the Challenged Athletes Foundation headquarters. For Alana Nichols, life is good.
