David Yates is the former President of the Ironman. We chatted about his Ironman days and then his move to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. David at heart is a storyteller and the amazing success of the Aquarium came after they fabricated a tail for Winter, the dolphin who was in dire shape when she was rescued and brought to the Aquarium. Winter became a star and that led to the creation of the film Dolphin Tale. CMA’S motto is one we can all identify with: Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release. At the wrap party for Dolphin Tale, a young injured dolphin was brought to CMA who was not expected to live. Hope not only lived, she became best friends with Winter, which led to David pitching a sequel and becoming the Executive Producer for Dolphin Tale 2 starring Harry Connick, Jr., Ashley Judd, and Morgan Freeman.
