Ian Emberson was first out of the water at the first-ever Ironman Triathlon back in 1978 and finished fourth overall in 1978 and third in 1979. The long-time race director for the Maui Channel Swim came on to chat about borrowing a bike to do that first Ironman and having his mom bring him oysters during the marathon.
