He didn’t get into the sport of triathlon until 2010, and he only became a pro because he figured he could get a few comp entries and maybe some housing when he traveled to a race. Joe Skipper from the U.K. wondered after each of the past four seasons if he was wasting his time trying to make a living in this sport and if he should simply walk away and get a real job, but each year his parents told him to stay the course. Their patience and belief in their son paid off big time in 2015 when Joe took second at Ironman Texas, while breaking the bike course record, and then took 13th in Kona. This is a young man with a great personality, huge talent and a big future.
