Kurt Madden finished seventh at the Ironman Triathlon World Championship back in 1980. He also finished sixth in October of 1982 and came back again in 1985. He hasn’t been back to race the Ironman Triathlon World Championship since 1985, but he qualified to race this year at Ironman Texas, and at the age of 60 will be returning to Kona 30 years after his last race there and 35 years after his first Ironman on the island of Oahu. It will be great to see the man they call Mad Dog back on the Big Island!
