It had been a little over eight years since Ryan Hall became the first American to run a half marathon in under an hour when he went 59:43 in Houston and became a star, not just in the U.S. but worldwide. Two Olympic teams and a 2:04:58 Boston Marathon later, Ryan took time to chat with us from a training weekend for the FCA Endurance Multisport extravaganza (enduranceweekend.com) that is coming up on April 24-26 in Peachtree City, GA. We chatted about what he loves about training in Ethiopia, how he is getting ready to run the Asics LA Marathon along with his wife Sara, how he has adapted his training and recovery over the years, why he chooses to be fearless in his running, how he grabs energy from the crowds on race day, and his feeling that, when it comes to his racing career, the best is yet to come.
