The first time we interviewed Ryan Hall was right after he broke the American record and became the first American to go under an hour for the half marathon with his amazing 59:43 in Houston. Over the span of five fabulous years from 2007-2011, he ran ten marathons, and nine of those were 2:12 or under. During this interview, ten years after our first conversation and about a week after he announced his retirement, we chatted about his hall of fame career, being the father of four, and some great memories from a great decade. Ryan was one of a kind,  someone who used the roads as his stage and totally embraced the spotlight of the world’s most important running events.
