Sheila Taormina is definitely a one of a kind athlete. She was versatile enough during her awesome career to make it to four Olympic Games in THREE different sports: swimming, triathlon and Modern Pentathlon.
Plus, she is a top-selling author whose latest book, Swim Speed Strokes, from VeloPress just hit the shelves. I love the fact that Sheila went from the sport needing the least amount of equipment-swimming: a cap, suit, and goggles- on to triathlon with the bike gear, bike box, and everything else that goes with that sport, to the Modern Pentathlon where you need, among other things, guns, swords and horses!
