Heading into its 33rd year, is there a half Iron distance event that has the history and prestige of Wildflower? I don’t think so. Besides the classic half distance course, there is also an Olympic and mountain bike triathlon, plus a full weekend of camping, music and camaraderie. If you haven’t been, what are you waiting for? If you have been there, you know what we’re talking about. Terry Davis, the founder of the event known as the Woodstock of Triathlon, came on to chat about the classic moments and athletes that have shaped the event over the years.
I love his quote: “We’re not putting on a race…..we’re building a city for 30,000 people.” Classic.
